ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
While Grealish has been back in City training for weeks now, some of the squad's Euro 2024 stars only recently linked up with Pep Guardiola's men. Incidentally, ahead of facing Manchester United this weekend at Wembley, the ex-Aston Villa winger took no time at all to rub it in Silva's face after apparently besting him in training on Wednesday.

WHAT JACK GREALISH SAID
Alongside posting a photo of some of his City team-mates, he wrote in an Instagram story: "It was a great day today seeing all the lads again but nothing is better than beating @bernardocarvalhosilva in training. Unlucky pal nice to have you back."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
This is a big season for both Grealish and City. The club are looking to secure a record-extending fifth-straight Premier League title in what could be manager Guardiola's last season in charge – with the Spaniard out of contract next summer. And 28-year-old Grealish wasn't always a regular in the City team last term and lost his place in the England squad as a result, so he will want to hit the ground running in 2024/25.

WHAT NEXT?
Grealish's City side take on United in the Community Shield clash at Wembley on Saturday before kickstarting their Premier League title defence against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, August 18.
